The Board and Trustees of Royal Freemasons are delighted to announce the appointment of Hugh Cattermole, who will take over from John Fogarty, as the organisation’s new Chief Executive Officer.
Hugh is a highly experienced executive leader across a number of sectors and has a passion for making lives better through the delivery of great services.
Hugh’s experience in aged, disability and community services leadership dates back to his work as a physiotherapist supporting elders in a rural nursing home. Through this direct care and support experience, Hugh has a firsthand understanding of how to best deliver services to those who need support and achieve the best possible outcomes, even in the most challenging of circumstances.
Hugh has been an executive leader and CEO in aged and community services, employment services and a manufacturing organisation, as well as the private and not-for-profit, community-lead sectors.
He is a firm believer in the benefits of continual learning and development, holding, in addition to his physiotherapy degree, a Masters of Business Administration, and a Masters of Commercial Law.
Royal Freemasons Board Chair Craig Head says, “Hugh brings to the role a wealth of experience in the aged care and community sectors. We are very much looking forward to working with him as he sets our organisation on an exciting new direction.”
Hugh says, “I am thrilled to be joining Royal Freemasons during a time of generational transition and working with the team to ensure the organisation’s rich legacy of supporting older Victorians continues.”
Hugh will commence his role as CEO of Royal Freemasons on Monday 22 January 2024.
John Fogarty stepped down from his position of CEO in December 2023. The Board and Trustees are deeply grateful to John for his strong leadership and commitment during his tenure at Royal Freemasons.
